Marcus Harshaw, Adjunct Faculty
As Kaleideum’s Vice President of Learning & Facilities, Marcus Harshaw is a dynamic servant leader passionate about creating unique, memorable experiences that inspire everyone to make positive change in themselves and their world. Currently, he leads Kaleideum’s education strategies, facilities & exhibits, theatre & performing arts, live animal collections, and more in Winston-Salem, NC.
Prior to his current work, Mr. Harshaw’s experience in the museum field comes from various education and exhibits roles. At Cincinnati Museum Center (Cincinnati, OH), he served as the Manager of Special Programs and Exhibits where he led the experience for blockbuster exhibitions. Then, as the Director of Audience Research & Evaluation he implemented an organization-wide evaluation policy and collaborated on several evaluation projects to improve all facets of the museum experience. After a short time as the Director of Education & Community Engagement at the Indiana Historical Society (Indianapolis, IN), Mr. Harshaw moved to Winston-Salem, NC, to help complete a two-museum merger and build a new $30.5 million museum.
Mr. Harshaw is an alumnus of the Johns Hopkins University’s Museum Studies Program, and earned a B.A. from Northern Kentucky University in history with areas of concentration in the early American republic, and ancient civilizations.
