Jessica Kurr, Adjunct Faculty
Dr. Jessica Kurr is a lecturer in the MA in Communication Program. She has taught at Johns Hopkins University since 2018, and her areas of research include civic education, debate, argument, and the rhetorical interactions between individuals and institutions. Dr. Kurr is the co-editor of Speech and Debate as Civic Education published by the Penn State University Press. As a rhetoric scholar, she has presented her research at interdisciplinary conferences in economics and communication across the United States and has received various research awards including ones from the History of Economics Society, the Center for Democratic Deliberation, and the American Society for the History of Rhetoric.
She earned her doctorate in communication from the Pennsylvania State University and her bachelors in finance from the University of Pittsburgh.
