Ashley Bouknight, Adjunct Faculty
Ashley Bouknight has over ten years of experience as a museum consultant and activist for various cultural institutions and neighborhood history projects in the Southeast. Most recently she served as the curator for a presidential historic site and the instructional designer for a museum magnet elementary school. Dr. Bouknight’s consulting work in South Carolina received a Preservation/Restoration Award as well as a New Construction in a Historic Context Award. Her current research focuses on collections management theory, intersectionality, and inclusivity in museums, and community outreach. Dr. Bouknight graduated with a B.A. in Historic Preservation and Community Planning from the College of Charleston, South Carolina, an M.A. in Public History (Museum Track), and a Certificate in Museum Management from the University of South Carolina, and she holds a Ph.D. in Public History from Middle Tennessee State University.
