Amardeep Dhanju, Adjunct Faculty
Amardeep Dhanju, PhD is a senior policy analyst with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM)/Avanti, where he is coordinating the National Ocean Policy initiative. Amardeep also co-chairs the Marine Planning Implementation subgroup created by the National Ocean Council (NOC) to coordinate regional ocean planning across the US. In addition, Amardeep provides support on various international initiatives at BOEM towards managing offshore energy and mineral resources in an environmentally responsive manner.
Amardeep has coauthored several journal articles on offshore energy and marine spatial planning topics published in Ocean and Coastal Management, Energy Policy, Renewable Energy, Coastal Management, Geophysical Research Letters and the U.S. Coastal Guard Proceedings journal. Amardeep is the lead author of a chapter on offshore renewable energy in the upcoming first United Nations (UN) World Ocean Assessment. He is also an associate editor of the Energy for Sustainable Development journal.
Amardeep graduated with a Ph.D. in Marine Policy from University of Delaware in 2010. His doctoral research focused on policy and regulatory issues related to offshore wind power development in the US. Amardeep joined BOEM in 2010 as a Knauss Sea Grant fellow and subsequently continued on a contract.
