NOTE: Only active students in good standing may apply.
Students must have completed at least one class in their program of study by May 8, 2009, to
be eligible for this scholarship.
Since financial aid cannot verify financial need for international students, they are not
eligible for this scholarship.
Students can apply for this scholarship every year it is available, but they must fill out
a new form each year and compete with the current pool for the award.
Instructions
- Submit the scholarship assistance program interest form below no
later than May 8, 2009.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no
later than May 8, 2009. JHU also requires a
supplemental form which may be completed electronically.
- Take note of additional requirements (e.g. essays, etc) that may be
applicable to applicants of various programs. If you are not certain
of application requirements, contact the Associate Program Chair (APC)
of your program.

No later than May 8, 2009, submit a brief essay (No more than 600 words, typed) that explains why a scholarship will help meet your creative or professional writing goals. The essay, which will be reviewed for writing and content, should include your current mailing and email address, plus a phone number. You may upload your essay into the electronic interest form as a Microsoft Word document, pdf, OR submit two paper copies of your essay to:

Write an essay (600- 800 words) that explains to the selection committee how you anticipate using your degree to address pressing environmental problems. The essay should describe how you anticipate contributing to the solution of environmental issue(s) and why an ESP degree is essential for you to make that contribution.
