480.655 Public Affairs
This course examines the interplay between public opinion and public policy. It focuses on the influence exerted on public policy by entities outside government and government's influence on public opinion. Through lectures, readings, discussions and exercises -- on theories and principles as well as actual events -- the course provides insights and practical knowledge on the development and conduct of public affairs campaigns to drive public opinion and affect public policy. At the end of the course, students should be able to design and analyze public affairs campaigns to influence public policy.
