Advanced Academic Programs offers fully online courses and web supported courses as part of its on-site degree programs. A fully online course is a course that does not meet at specific dates and locations like a conventional class. Instead, instruction and interaction is conducted completely online via interactive courseware software called WebCT. Online courses allow students the flexibility to participation in ongoing analysis, discussion, and group project work each week according to the student's schedule. This forum is ideal for students whose schedules make weekly course meetings difficult, but who are committed to the intensive work required to succeed in an online class. Students are required to participate frequently and regularly in the online forum. Visit this online presentation for a brief overview of online courses.
Instructors who choose to can support their courses online using WebCT, the same software used in fully-online courses. This allows web-supported courses to facilitate threaded online discussions, uploading course documents for students to download, securely submitted class assignments, dissemination of announcements and syllabii pertinent to the class, and the use internal webCT email to communicate between students and faculty.
