MA in Writing alum James Mathews' short story collection, Last Known Position, won the Katherine Anne Porter Prize in Short Fiction, and has just been published by University of North Texas Press. For those who've never read them, Jim's stories have a rare quality of somehow being both literary and entertaining. And funny. Very, very funny.
