Gabo Arora Appointed as Assistant Director of MA in Film & Media

Gabo Arora has been appointed as the Assistant Director of the MA in Film & Media Program. Gabo, with over 15 years of field experience, is an award-winning filmmaker and the Founder & Creative Director of LightShed, a virtual reality and social impact start-up. Formerly, he was a senior policy advisor for the United Nations and their first-ever Creative Director. He has directed and produced a series of widely acclaimed virtual reality documentaries (Clouds Over Sidra, Waves of Grace, My Mother’s Wing) for the UN that have all premiered at major film festivals, including Cannes, Sundance, and Tribeca, been featured at the World Economic Forum in Davos, screened at the White House, and exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art’s inaugural program on immersive storytelling.

For AAP, Gabo will be developing and leading an innovative concentration in Immersive Storytelling & Emerging Technology.

He received a Master of Arts in International Relations and International Economics from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from NYU.
