Tuition and Fees

The per-course cost for the MA in Science Writing and Graduate Certificate in Science Writing is currently $2,806. That means the total cost for the nine-course MA will be nine times the courses tuition; for the certificate, multiply by five. This rate is effective for Summer and Fall 2015 and Spring 2016. Books are additional and vary from course to course.

Unlike other institutions, the Johns Hopkins Advanced Academic Programs does not charge large regular fees in addition to tuition. However, some small fees are imposed: Every online course requires an additional $175 Technology Fee for 24/7 technology support. Other courses occasionally include other small fees, such as a Residency or thesis fee.

Financial aid is available in the form of student loans, and some students receive tuition assistance from their employers. Each student has access to a university financial aid counselor. For more information about Financial Aid, please click here.
