Center for Liberal Arts
At the Johns Hopkins University Center for Liberal Arts, we believe learning is more than just education. It’s an attitude-an approach to life. The Center community shares a holistic view that learning is related to life in general, not just to a career or job.
The Center for Liberal Arts is a part of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and is the home to three flagship liberal arts programs that have a long-standing history with the university. The Center’s mission is to promote the educational journey of lifelong learning through its three programs:
- Master of Liberal Arts: A part-time, credited graduate degree program for adults
- Odyssey: An evening and weekend Liberal Arts program offering non-credit lectures, courses and workshops.
- Osher at JHU: A non-credit Liberal Arts program for retirees, which offers classes during the day.
We believe that everyone pursues an educational journey through life, in one way or another, and the Center offers courses, workshops, lectures, special events and more to keep people engaged in their journey. Whether you are a retired senior or a working professional, seeking a degree or just looking for personal enrichment, a journey of lifelong learning is open to you here at Johns Hopkins University.
