Course Requirements
CURRICULUM
Government
All MA/MBA students are required to complete the following Core Government courses:
- Proseminar: Essentials of Public and Private Management
- Government and Politics in the U.S.
- Methods of Social Inquiry
In addition to the three core government courses, MA/MBA program students are required to take 7 electives, two of which can be fulfilled via courses in the Carey School of Business.
Though not required, the following government courses are recommended electives for students who wish to complete the MBA/MA program:
- Law of Public Institutions
- Congressional Policy Making
- The Budgetary Process
- Executive Politics and Policymaking
- Public Entrepreneurship
- Negotiating as Leadership Skill
- Government and the Global Economy
- State Politics and Policymaking
MBA
All MA/MBA students are also required to complete the following MBA courses:

- Quantitative Decision Making for Business
- Integrated Capstone in Competitive Strategy (790.801)
*These
courses can be waived if the student passes a waiver exam or has taken
an equivalent graduate level class in the last three years with a B or
better. Waiver exams are taken after students are admitted to the program, and within the first two semesters of initial registration
