Master of Arts in Government
Students in the Master of Arts in Government program are given the tools to examine the governmental and social institutions in our society, to assess prospects for reform, and to affect change. At the Johns Hopkins University Washington Center for the Study of American Government, students use their graduate studies to better inform their work and find their practical work experience augments their graduate studies. The program brings the theory and practice of government, politics, and policymaking together for those working in the Washington, D.C. area while completing their master's degree. It is designed as a part-time graduate program, but students have the option of accelerating their course of study by attending full-time.
Concentrations
Master of Arts in Government students may optionally choose to focus in one of the following concentrations:
Homeland Security Concentration
Political Communication Concentration
Law and Justice Concentration
JHU-FEI Leadership in Government Fellows Program
Federal Executive Institute (FEI) graduates of the Leadership in a Deomocratic Society Program who meet the admissions requirements for the master’s degree in Government at Johns Hopkins will be allowed to transfer eight FEI (American Council on Education approved) credit hours toward the MA in Government degree.
