In today's world, while specialization in one field is advantageous, it is also critically important to have a broader base of knowledge to understand the role and function of government and how it impacts the economy and society. Scientists, lawyers, economists, lobbyists, consultants, policy analysts, and managers working in government, business, or social organizations all benefit from a more comprehensive knowledge of the various governmental components, how they interact, and how they comply with their mandated accountability in administering the affairs of the state.
