Suzanne Fierston, Adjunct Faculty

Sue Fierston teaches several nonfiction classes, including Profile & Biography Workshop, Nonfiction Workshop, and Writing the Memoir and Personal Essay Workshop. Her weekly self-illustrated essays on the intersection of art and nature appeared online for the Sierra Club in 2010 and 2011 and, in 2013, she became an Artist-in-Residence at Yosemite National Park. Sue is a Teaching Artist with the Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County, consulting with schools in writing and the arts. Her paintings have been exhibited in solo shows at the National Museum of Health and Medicine and Georgetown University’s Lombardi Cancer Center, among others, and you can see many of them online at her website. Sue received her master’s degree in English from Northwestern University and lives in Maryland with her husband and daughter.
