Susan Schaefer, Adjunct Faculty
Susan Schaefer is a consultant, writer, and speaker who is passionate about the nonprofit sector. Her practical approach to management and governance has made her a frequent presenter at conferences and in classrooms. She founded Resource Partners LLC in 2001 with a mission to help nonprofits excel at fundraising, board development, and program services.
Prior to founding her consulting firm, Ms. Schaefer served as National Director, Foundations at the United Negro College Fund. In that position, she helped lead the design and implementation of the $1 billion Gates Millennium Scholars Program, one of the largest private grants in history. Her writing has been featured in articles and in books. She co-edited The Nonprofit Consulting Playbook: Winning Strategies from 25 Leaders in the Field, with Linda Lysakowski, ACFRE, and is currently co-authoring a book about serving on a nonprofit board. Throughout her career, she has held seats on nonprofit boards and award panels.
Ms. Schaefer holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maryland at College Park and a master’s degree in Not-for-Profit Management from University of Maryland University College.
