Scott Schmidt, Adjunct Faculty
Scott Schmidt, MPP, currently serves as Digital Director at the House Committee on Financial Services. In this position, he develops and executes the Committee’s creative properties while leading the design of insight-driven digital strategies on issues pertaining to the economy, the banking system, housing, insurance, and securities and exchanges.
Previously, Mr. Schmidt served in strategic roles at both the House Republican Conference and the House Committee on Oversight & Government Reform. During the 2008 financial crisis, he served as Special Assistant in the George W. Bush Administration where he functioned as a speechwriter to the Assistant Secretary for Housing at HUD. Prior to that, he served as a Policy Assistant at the House Committee on Energy & Commerce.
Mr. Schmidt earned his B.A. in communication and political science from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his Master of Public Policy from George Mason University.
