Matthew P. Rabbitt, Adjunct Faculty

Matthew P. Rabbitt is an economist at the Economic Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. His research interests include applied econometrics, health economics, and measurement. In his recent research, he has been developing new estimators that are useful for examining the causal effect of a binary treatment variable on a series of correlated binary logistic outcome variables when selection into the treatment is based on contemporaneous unobservables. His prior research has focused on examining the causes and consequences of domestic and global food insecurity, including the effectiveness of food and nutrition assistance programs.

He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
