Leana Bowman, Adjunct Faculty

Leana wholeheartedly believes in volunteerism. Over the last 25 years, she founded and operated a homeless meal program, created a charitable foundation for a national park, served as a city parks and recreation commissioner, and participated with a myriad of other non-profit agencies such as community theaters, service clubs and conservation groups. From this volunteerism, a career was born. She spent several years as the Executive Director of a regional children’s museum and the Marketing Director for a county museum. She also operates her own business, consulting on marketing, grant writing, and non-profit formation. She has helped raise over $28M for the organizations with which she has been affiliated. Leana currently works for Allan Hancock College as the Director of Institutional Grants and teaches various non-profit related classes for Cuesta College. As an avid horsewoman, she also facilitates equine-assisted learning workshops on communication and leadership.

Leana has a BS in Business Administration from Capella University and an MBA with a specialization in Project Management from Walden University.
