Karen Osborne, Adjunct Faculty
Karen Osborne is president of The Osborne Group, Inc., a full service management and consulting firm specializing in philanthropy, opinion research and organizational management. Nationally and internationally recognized, she has taught a wide variety of fundraising, management and marketing topics at hundreds of conferences and private sessions all over the world. Osborne’s teaching is backed by first-hand experience. For 18 years, she led development and institutional advancement offices, including her last institutional position as vice president for advancement at Trinity College. Prior to that, she spent eight years in the development office at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
As a consultant and fundraising campaign counsel, she works with colleges, universities, health organizations, and national and local nonprofits in a variety of fields. Often quoted in authoritative articles, Osborne has also published articles and book chapters. Her training includes in-person workshops and seminars, Web-based workshops and interactive workshops via live television as well as video and audio conferences. The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) awarded her the Crystal Apple Award for outstanding teaching and public speaking.
