John Samples, Adjunct Faculty

John Samples, PhD, directs the Center for Representative Government at the Cato Institute. He has written articles on election reform, direct democracy, campaign finance regulation, and the role of religion in James Madison’s political theory. He is currently editing a collection of papers on James Madison’s legacy for limited government and American liberalism.

He was previously the Director of the Georgetown University Press and before that was Vice President of The Twentieth Century Fund.
