Jennifer Bachner, PhD, is Director of the Master of Science in Government Analytics and Certificate in Government Analytics at Johns Hopkins University. She teaches courses in statistical analysis, survey research and public opinion.
Her current book project, What the Government Thinks of the People with Benjamin Ginsberg, examines government officials’ knowledge and opinions of the citizens they serve (Prometheus, forthcoming in 2016). She is also currently editing Analytics, Policy and Governance with Kathryn Wagner Hill and Benjamin Ginsberg (Yale University Press, forthcoming in 2017). Her report, Predictive Policing: Preventing Crime with Data and Analytics, has been published by the IBM Center for the Business of Government. As an expert on government analytics and political behavior, she has been quoted and/or cited in the Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, Los Angeles Times, Roll Call, Government Executive, Government Technology and on Federal News Radio.
Bachner received her PhD in government from Harvard University and undergraduate degrees in political science and social studies education from the University of Maryland, College Park.
