Daniel Stone, Adjunct Faculty
Daniel Stone is an editor for National Geographic magazine, where he covers environmental science and agriculture. His work has appeared in The Washington Post, Scientific American, and on CBS’s 60 Minutes. He was formerly White House correspondent for Newsweek during the Obama Administration.
Daniel earned his M.S. from Johns Hopkins University in Environmental Science and Policy, and his B.A. from the University of California, Davis. He’s an enthusiastic west coaster, a tea evangelist, and an addict of fresh fruit.
He is the author of the upcoming book, The Food Explorer, on the life and adventures of food spy and botanical explorer David Fairchild. The book follows Fairchild’s introduction of new foods—including avocados, mangoes, dates, and kale—to the U.S., and the 20th century transformation of what Americans eat.
