Dana Allen-Greil, Adjunct Faculty

Dana Allen-Greil is Chief of Web and Social Media at the National Archives. She previously worked at the National Gallery of Art in education and digital outreach, at Ogilvy Public Relations as a social media strategist and account director, and at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History as New Media Project Manager and later as Chief of Digital Outreach and Engagement. Ms. Allen-Greil has served on the boards of MCN, the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums, and Education Fights AIDS International. She was a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Exhibitionist journal (affiliated with the National Association of Museum Exhibition) and the Advisory Board of Social Media Week DC. She has served as a grant reviewer for NEH and IMLS.

Ms. Allen-Greil earned a bachelor’s degree in English from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and master’s degree in Museum Studies from The George Washington University, and she completed the Getty Leadership Institute’s NextGen program. Ms. Allen-Greil has taught graduate museum studies and technology courses for The George Washington University, Georgetown University, and The Johns Hopkins University.
