Jay McCutcheon, Adjunct Faculty

Jay McCutcheon graduated from the University of Miami, and spent seven years as a professional soccer player with the Ft. Lauderdale Sun, Baltimore Blast, Chicago Sting and Chicago Power. He began working in sporting marketing as director of Sports Marketing Service, Ltd., and then joined Umbro USA, the country’s leading soccer apparel provider. He managed Umbro’s endorsements, sponsorships, promotions and grassroots marketing as Director of Sports Marketing for Umbro North America for eight years.

In 1998, he came to Baltimore to act as Vice President of Marketing for the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore developing B2B and consumer campaigns. At that time, Jay and his wife started the non-profit Active Survivors Network as a way to help survivors of serious illness and accidents with recovery. The non-profit started the “Survivor Harbor 7” race, which grew to include the largest wheelchair race in the Mid-Atlantic in the nine years it coursed through downtown Baltimore.

In 2006, Jay joined Mission Media, a small boutique design agency and after more than 9 years, Jay became a Principal. Jay heads up Marketing & Development where Mission continues to help shape regional, national and international brands. Mission’s portfolio includes work for STX, Nike, Generation Adidas International, Elite Tournaments, The Maryland Zoo, Liberty Mountain Resort, Dreamworks Entertainment, Laureate Education, Johns Hopkins University and The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
